Holy Ghost Catholic Primary School

Secondary School Destinations

At Holy Ghost we are very proud of all our children.

Our aim is to ensure they are happy and successful learners fulfilling their full potential, as well as confident and kind young people.

This includes providing every child with the skills to succeed when they move onto secondary school, as well as providing help and guidance to families with the application process.

Holy Ghost children have a wide range of destinations when they leave us – Catholic, Grammar, State and Independent. Many of our children selecting independent schools are given multiple offers and offered scholarships – academic, music and sport.

The list below outlines where our children move onto after they leave Holy Ghost Primary School.

Secondary School Transfer Process

Choosing the right secondary school for your child is never easy, especially if it is your first time. Every year at Holy Ghost, we offer a Secondary Transfer Meeting to discuss the secondary school process and welcome all parents in KS2 (Year 3 and above). Please refer to presentation below for information shared with our parents at our recent meeting in May 2024.

Secondary School Open Days

Whilst we understand it is important to visit Secondary Schools, we request that you do so out of school hours to minimise disruption to the children’s learning. Most secondary schools offer Open Day sessions at weekends and late afternoons.

If you do require time off, please complete an Absence Request Form and forward it to the school office. Please note, we are only able to record 6 sessions as “authorised school visits”.
